Okehampton Food Bank for PETS

as this year's fundraiser
 

Here, Julie explains why she has chosen this worthwhile cause:  Being an owner of furbabies for over 20 years, I like so many other pet owners ensure that our pets have always been part of the family.  However, it has become apparent (especially over the last 3 years) that many people have had to make the heart wrenching decision to give their pets up to animal shelters because they are no longer in a position where they can afford to feed them.   This not only puts a huge amount of pressure and stress on the animal shelter but also has a knock-on effect on the family having to make that awful decision to give up their pet.  Having spoken directly to Okehampton Food Bank they explained to me how donations for pet food has dwindled over time and that it is not just us humans that need a helping hand but our pets also need a helping paw! 

Therefore, I decided to help raise funds for Okehampton Food Bank for PETS so that people within the community who need the help and assistance to feed their pets have somewhere to turn to.  Hopefully by raising funds for this worthwhile cause means that no pet will go hungry and pet owners will have less to worry about.

If you are unable to attend any of our fund raising events perhaps you could add pet food to your shopping list and place it in the food bank drop off point at your local supermarket on your next visit.
